Rosh Hashanah with Miknaf Ha'aretz & Friends
“In the past, changing the self and changing the world were often regarded as separate endeavors and viewed in either-or terms. But in the story of the Great Turning, they are recognized as mutually reinforcing and essential to one another.” Joanna Macy
“The matter of Turning is a matter of life.” Rabbi Aaron Samuel Tamares
Tuesday 23rd September (1st Day Rosh Hashanah) 10am - 4pm
Sadeh Farm, Skeet Hill House, Kent
As the shofar is blown in the month of Elul we begin to turn, teshuva, to return. Over the New Year we turn towards what we cannot ignore, in ourselves and the world around us. This year we have so much to turn towards. In this turning we lean into the full weight of our despair and, to the great beauty of being alive & here we get a little braver together, to face the coming year with renewed strength.
Join us to welcome in the new year in song-ful, soulful, earth-based, radical-diasporist Jewish community & to incubate our prayers, intentions & revolutionary hopes for the year ahead.
Jewish folk of all backgrounds, their loved ones, little ones and bigger ones very welcome!
This will be a creative, embodied, experiential take on the traditional High Holy Day liturgy and practice grounded in the Kohenet tradition. Services and ritual will be held by Kohenet Sara Moon, Samson Hart & more TBC... There will be prayer time, time to be on the land alongside much space to wander, reflect, meditate, sing and be in silence. All offerings will be optional and will be as inclusive, egalitarian & queer-affirming as possible! If there is anything that would support your comfort/joy in participating, please let us know. You can email us at hello@miknafhaaretz.co.uk
